I’ve been very fortunate over the years to meet some incredible people. And one of my favorite parts of being a wedding florist is that I enjoy working with my brides!
I love getting to hear the details of their wedding. Not many people can handle hearing the specific details of the kind of linen you’re ordering for your wedding but I DO love to hear about those things! A Tuscany linen rented from La Tavola in 134” round in ice blue with coordinating chiavari chair pads? I’m 100% tracking with you and couldn’t be happier to see the color swatch! It’s not for everyone but it’s definitely for me.
Along with getting to hear all the details I genuinely become invested in your wedding and how every aspect of your vision becomes a reality. And with that, I often times get new friends! I love hearing from my brides. Even yesterday I received a random email from one of my bride’s from 3 years ago just checking in and seeing how things were going. Gosh, I love that and it makes me love my job even more-if possible!
Erica is one of those special people that has the sweetest spirit and kindest heart. I’ve been fortunate enough to keep tabs on her over the years and I even got to work with her on a styled shoot in Charleston! I love seeing her life updates on instagram.
Erica and David had a beautiful wedding at Veritas Vineyard in Charlottesville, VA on a sunny Summer evening. It was a scorcher but that didn’t stop anything from being less than perfection.
Check out that draping on the ceiling. She had farmhouse tables and a sweet color palette of soft neutrals. It was elegant, tasteful, classic and a lovely celebration of two special people. I’m so thankful I got to be a part of it and I still get to cheer them on! Enjoy the photos by Sam Stroud Photography.
This Fall at Quinn’s elementary school there was a contest and kids could enter all kinds of forms of art from poems, dances, photography, drawings and paintings- you name it, it was enterable.
Of course my mini me decided she was going to do a flower arrangement and I was not so secretly thrilled by her decided upon entry manner. So I ordered her flowers and when the day arrived for her to create this masterpiece, I was a mixed bag.
The mom in me was cheering her on, letting her do her own thing while the florist in me was biting my lip and shoving my hands in my pockets because this was her original art and I was not allowed to mess with it.
I have to say, I think she did really great for a 5 year old! And mom definitely gave her a couple of pointers but I cut the stems and she placed and arranged every stinkin’ last one of them, y’all.
I might even hire her someday!
Sadly, I don’t think the judges see the value in this art form YET… but we’re going to slowly work them down because fresh flower arranging is an art.
Have you ever wondered if what you see is what you’re really going to get?
I totally get that. I hate buying something and it breaking within the first use of buying it. What a waste! And I know when it comes to your wedding flowers, you can’t make that kind of mistake.
One of the guiding principles at Petal is that from the first time you share your vision about your wedding flowers, you feel heard and understood. It’s my job to grasp what you want, even if you don’t know how to explain it. Just because my days are filled with constant flower talk doesn’t mean you have to know the lingo or all the flower varieties to get the flowers you want. One photo can say a lot about your style so get on pinterest and look around for things you like. And check out Petal’s Pinterest page while you’re there!
I also believe in getting what you pay for. Weddings are expensive. Flowers are expensive. And there’s a lot, and I mean A LOT of labor that goes into creating wedding flowers that you would never dream about but, I still believe in value. So I’ll always do my best to help you figure out how you can get the most out of the budget that you have set aside for your flowers.
If you’re not sure, just give me a call or shoot me an email and I’d be happy to answer any of your questions! And if you’d like to start the conversation of your wedding flowers, you can visit our contact page to get the ball rolling!
It’s been 6 months since we moved and it feels like we just got here...
What does this mean for Petal Flower Company?
The good news is I’m still making beautiful wedding flowers! It just may be for Brides a little further south than the ones before. I’ll be doing flowers for weddings and events anywhere in the Triad. From Kernersville, High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem- even Asheville, Charlotte and Raleigh are on the list!
I’ve already had a chance to make some of the most beautiful wedding flowers at the Outer Banks this past Fall and I have weddings in Asheville and Raleigh coming up soon but I still have some available 2019 weekends.
How do I get wedding flowers for my Winston Salem wedding?
Just head over to my Contact page and fill out a few details so I can get in touch or you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I would love to hear all about your vision for your wedding and share how Petal can make it come to life with beautiful wedding flowers!
I’ve been waiting for these photos to come in and they’re every bit as dreamy as I hoped the would be! This breezy October evening was filled with the sweetest moments between friends and family celebrating the love of one of my favorite bride and grooms, Baili and Seth. They’re so smitten with each other it’s contagious and they had a beautiful ceremony in a large open field with nothing but a cross and the support of their loved ones behind them. And a tree. There was tree.
David and Sarah did just a flat out amazing job with these photos so you have to check out their work if you’re on the photographer hunt. And the venue was spacious and the perfect blend of an outdoor tent meets barn vibe, so check out Summerfield Farms.
I love this wedding.
I love these people.
I want more amazing brides and grooms like them.
I. love. it. all.
Now, enjoy it for yourself
Tia’s photographer is literally my favorite photographer in the world, Kelsey Schwenk. She gets all the details and she’s fun and kind and just an amazing human being I always want to be around. Quinn is the best helper because if she can do it at the sassy age of 5, then you can do it too! Today we made two simple bridesmaid's bouquets for those of you on a MAJOR budget.
We used wax-flower and limonium which could be easily used instead of baby's breath or in addition to it for a simple monochromatic white color palette.
